In December of 2015, Adidas launched the NMD under the label's street-focused Originals umbrella. The success of the NMD line is bigger than the fact it sells out and that certain models go for, on average, three-to-four times their price tag on the re-sell market. The “1975” graphic then points to Ashe’s Wimbledon victory and number one world ranking, and “Arthur Ashe Activist Advocate”adidas originals honey low can be seen on the right sockliner to commemorate his contributions that transcend sport even still.
